CHILDREN AND YOUTH

We take Children and Young People seriously in our churches and would love to welcome you to one of our activities focussed on the younger members of our village communities.

All of our Children's and Youth activities are aimed at young people from all of our parishes and are not specific to the village where they take place.

FAMILY AND ALL-AGE WORSHIP

Children are welcome at all of our services, however, we do have special services designed for younger people:

JUNIOR CHOIR

Our Junior Choir is a free, fun after school activity for primary school age children, from 5:45 to 6:30 pm every Wednesday during term time at WILDEN church. No need to book, just turn up.

The choir, led by Dionne, helps lead worship two or three times a year, but there is no obligation to attend church services.

Refreshments are served for parents during choir and for the children afterwards.

YOUTH GROUP

Our Youth Group, for secondary school age children meets every 1st and 3rd Sunday from 4:00-5:00 pm at RAVENSDEN church.

As well as our regular sessions, we also run youth group social outings, which in 2022 included a swimming party and a pre-christmas bowling and pizza afternoon.

WORK WITH SCHOOLS

The Church in our villages works very closely with our three primary schools, with Rev'd Tim and Rev'd Anthony regularly leading collective worship at school.

In addition, the schools will regularly visit our churches as part of the curriculum or for special services and events.

CONFIRMATION CLASSES

Periodically we prepare a group of young people to be confirmed.

Confirmation is a special church service in which a person confirms the promises that were made when they were baptized. The local bishop will lay their hands on the cadidates' heads and ask God’s Holy Spirit to give them the strength and commitment to live God’s way for the rest of their life.
