Blog: September 2026 - Growing the Love of God throughout the Community

Our 5 Churches have been thinking for some time about a Mission Statement.  So we hope you like the above!  ‘Growing’ is an active verb reminding us that we do change as does our understanding of faith and God.  The Bible tells us ‘God is Love’ - shown through His provision especially giving Jesus’ forgiveness and eternal Hope.  The Bible also says: ‘God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not die but have eternal life’.  And we are not called to faith alone.  We share it with all in our Communities – our villages, parishes, families, friendship groups and neighbourhoods.  As the late Queen said in her final opening of General Synod through Prince Edward as she was too frail to attend: ‘The Church of England’s role is to share the Love of God with the people of England.’  We want to see God’s love growing in all our communities.
