Blog: July & August 2026 - Water in Summer

‘Water is so welcome in the warm weather both to keep us refreshed and clean when we get hot!  I love an opportunity to swim in the sea but only managed a paddle last summer!  We are also sadly aware of the dangers of river water in sudden heatwaves with the loss of so many young lives to drowning across our nation over the May Half Term weekend.  Water is important to Christians as is contained in the mark of Baptism.  Water refreshes and gives us new life.  Water cleanses and washes away all that is not good in our lives.  Water reminds us that whilst we all face death in this life Jesus promises us the gift of eternal life!  Jesus gives us the water of life.  So I hope you enjoy the water this summer either drinking it, looking at it, swimming or paddling in it.
